Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee in partnership with Humboldt County Democracy for America presented Congressman Mike Thompson with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts regarding the “Downing Street Memo” and the Iraq war.

On Saturday, August 28, in partnership with Humboldt County Democracy for America (DFA), the Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee (HCDCC) presented Congressman Mike Thompson with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts to unearth the truth behind the “Downing Street Memo” and to understand the circumstances and impacts of the war in Iraq. Said Greg Connors of the DFA, “As a veteran himself, Congressman Thompson understands that sending our people to war is a truly grave undertaking and that it should be done with tremendous thoughtfulness and a thorough understanding of the circumstances. Clearly we need to look honestly into the events that led up to, and the justifications that were used for, the invasion of Iraq. We appreciate Congressman Thompson’s courageous leadership in this effort.”
